Those who know the music of acoustic guitarist Esteban know him as an accomplished player of sappy new-age music, the creator of many chart-topping new-age releases. Others may know the dramatic story of how he was unable to play for a decade after being hit by a drunk driver or heard that he studied with classical guitar master Andres Segovia in the ’70s. That he’s a steelworker’s son from Pittsburgh whose real name is Stephen Paul may not be so romantic but it’s certainly a piquant contradiction in his theatrical life story. Read more
